Benton-Lane awarded two of the
Top 100 Wines of the World for 2006
Every year Wine Spectator and Wine & Spirits Magazine select the best 100 wines in the world. If you take a second to consider how many wines are produced in the entire world each year you can understand just how rare it is to have a wine chosen…let alone to have TWO wines chosen!
This year our Benton-Lane 2005 Pinot Gris was selected as one of the Top 100 wines in the world by Wine & Spirits Magazine. At the same time our 2004 Benton-Lane Pinot Noir was selected as the 80th best wine in the world by Wine Spectator. It is indeed very rare to have a wine selected. It is unheard of to have two different wines selected. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have this great honor bestowed on us, and believe that it is due to the unique climate of our sustainably grown, low output vineyard and our winemaking team of Tim Wilson and Barrett Rosteck.
Because many of our customers will want to taste these two incredible wines, Carol and I have made a small amount available from our personal library. These may be purchased at the winery or on our online store at www.benton-lane.com/cart.
